I was always inspired by the Sahaba because they weren’t perfect like the Prophets (which means I could relate to them better), and the more I read about them, the more I realized they were all that was said about them (saints, friends of Allah etc.), but what enamored me the most to them was that they were just so human. I found that inspiring, and it filled me with the hope that I too could please Allah despite my sinfulness and the times that we live in.

I gave my first talk in Ramadan of 2013, one sahabi a day. It caught on and people asked for more (it has continued ever since aside from two years). Alhumdulillah, I sift through 10-15 history, hadith, tafsir, and seerat books to gather the material for each sahabi.
